The 2010 Rochester Go Red For Women Luncheon held on April 21st at the Rochester International Event Center was a fabulous success! We are pleased with the wonderful turn-out and beautiful sea of red that inspired so many women to educate themselves and others about the risks of heart disease, and the life-style changes we can make to remain healthy mothers, daughters, sisters, and friends.

Please check back soon for information on the 2011 Rochester Go Red For Women or contact Sara Shaw at sara.

We hope you will join us next year!

Keynote Speaker and Survivor

JENNIFER ENGEL

Jennifer Engel made the choice to save her heart, mind and body before it was too late.

Her struggle with her weight caused tremendous feelings of inadequacy to the point that it absorbed her identity. Jennifer continually compared herself to others and often felt hopeless and depressed.

But it was a former host family in Australia who made Jennifer stop to take inventory of her life.

“She told me ‘You’re better than this. What are you doing?’ She just tore it down and told it like it was.

From that point on, Jennifer made the choice to take charge of her health. She changed her career, left unhealthy relationships, devoted herself to morning meditation, and began volunteering with a local women’s health initiative.

“I Go Red for myself. I’m taking control of my time and my life now.”
